Professor Steele currently serves as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion and Assistant Professor of Law in Residence at the University of Alabama School of Law, and is a member of the Alabama State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. She has formerly served as a Civil Rights Attorney opportunity, diversity in the legal profession, diversity pipeline programs, federal equal employment opportunity laws, implicit bias, sexual harassment and sexual violence in educational settings, the use of statistical analysis in disparate impact cases, cyberbullying, and the responsibilities postsecondary institutions concerning students with disabilities. She graduated with Bachelors of Arts degrees from Spelman College, earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and her Masters degree in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University.
